Albatros LOGO outlined.png

Albatros is a North Sea Clipper built in 1899 near Rotterdam. Moored in Wells-next-the-sea. Currently undergoing restoration and a refit in Maldon, Essex by Marine Heritage Foundation.

In April 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, the Albatros was purchased by the Richardson family. There was a lot of work that needed doing, the mast was rotten, holes in the hull, the entire rigging needing replacement. She needed a lot of love, so in August once covid restrictions were lifted, and there was room in the yard for her, she set sail to Maldon. She was crewed by Jim Dines, Stephan, Robert Richardson, Will Richardson, former owner Ton, and stowaway Rachel Gilbert. She will be there til 2022, sign up to our newsletter to keep updated.
